“Leaving Home” tells the story of a young girl setting off to college thanks to the Marine Corps Scholarship Fund and her father’s service to his country. Pride, honor, service, humility, and selflessness define the true essence of a Marine. We gained much insight and admiration for those who embody these concepts and risk their everything for the sake of their country .

The California Association of Midwives approached Visual Sherpa to help develop a program that creates more public awareness about the benefits of midwife-assisted birthing. Birthing America is a web series documenting the trials and triumphs of midwives and their clients throughout the birthing experience, allowing viewers a glimpse into the process from decision-making all the way through delivery.
We are so grateful to the midwives and families who let us into their most private moments and allowed us to capture these incredibly intimate images.Leave a reply
The Gentle Barn Foundation is a unique animal sanctuary located in Southern California. It rehabilitates and gives shelter to abused and neglected animals, who in turn work with therapists and counselors to help heal abused and neglected children. Visual Sherpa was tasked with documenting one of their more elaborate rescues in an attempt to raise public awareness about the issues surrounding the dairy industry.
The Foundation teamed up with Mercy for Animals during an undercover investigation to rescue four baby cows from a Texas dairy rearing farm. Director/DP Joey Julius embedded himself along with Jay Weiner, President of The Gentle Barn Foundation, during the Texas rescue. This short film went viral, garnering 100,000+ donations, and was recognized by many activist blogs for its unique ability to convey important animal rights issues without traumatizing the viewer. The film was featured on Ellen DeGeneres’ website and countless other animal advocacy blogs.Leave a reply
We were thrilled when Ellen DeGeneres asked us to produce a unique video project for one of the young artists signed to her Eleveneleven label. For all of the kids featured, it was their first experience in front of the camera. The moments in between filming were magical, as their shyness and sheepish grins gave glimpses into these fragile souls. Savannah’s voice is mesmerizing, and filming her performance of the song was a moving, almost spiritual experience for all within earshot. The video went viral, helping launch the young artist into the spotlight while garnering much-needed public awareness about the plight facing many middle school children.
“Beautiful” was written by Linda Perry and made popular by Christina Aguilera. Music by Harvey Mason. The project was spearheaded by Ellen DeGeneres and Larry Jackson of Interscope/Geffen. The music video was shot with Canon cameras and lenses. Color by Johnny McPheeters of Libertad Soul. Editing, sound design, and finishing by Visual Sherpa. Special thanks to Hale Middle School and to all the children from The PaRC Foundation, APCH Los Angeles, and The Gentle Barn.Leave a reply

Visual Sherpa was honored to help visualize a project that would help launch Sun Chlorella Corporation’s Corporate Social Responsibility program here in the United States. This inspiring story and alignment of mission statements serves as a prime example of corporate social responsibility, branding Sun Chlorella to an entirely new demographic while fueling support for The Gentle Barn Foundation’s important work.
Inspired by The Gentle Barn’s mission, Sun Chlorella Corporation sponsored a Gentle Barn rescue operation and supplied the sanctuary with emergency nutrition for all animals under its care. Rescued animals arrive malnourished, injured, and overloaded with toxins from a life of abuse and morbid neglect. The Gentle Barn uses Sun Chlorella to rebuild the animals’ immunity, detox their bodies and fortify their health with its plethora of nutrients. Sun Chlorella helps heal the animals’ bodies from within, supplying their cells with the amino acids needed for replication and cell repair.
The project was produced by Visual Sherpa over the course of 6 months. A variety of hidden camera techniques were implemented during the investigations of the illegal butchering facility. The horrifying and abusive footage was left out of the edit but used as evidence to help authorities shut down the facility and save over 250 animals from abuse and neglect.Leave a reply
